About Us

The Tatreez Retreat is the mastermind of three co-hosts: Amanne (founder of Minamanne), Bayan (founder of Badan Collective), and Lina (founder of Linasthhobe). Each co-host was pursuing their own path in the tatreez community, until their paths collided and led to the creation of The Tatreez Retreat.

In January of 2023, in a post-covid world, Lina and Amanne met for dinner where a conversation came up about gathering in-person with all the tatreez artists they had befriended online over the years. Simultaneously, Bayan was preparing to host a similar gathering for the tatreez community where stitchers could gather, do tatreez, and build stronger bonds in-person. She ended up connecting with Lina then with Amanne, and before they all knew it, the three of them had joined forces to bring this project to life.

After months of planning, we gathered for our first retreat in Santa Fe, New Mexico in October of 2023 with 10 tatreez artists. We stitched, laughed, learned, and built a stronger community of sisterhood throughout the process. We loved our experience so much that we decided to keep The Tatreez Retreat going so more and more women could experience it too.

The Tatreez Retreat is now an annual gathering, where we meet in different locations across the world, dive deep into indigenous cultures, and practice our beloved art of tatreez. To join our next trip, sign up to our mailing list here.
